Artwork raising money for wetland conservation

Ducks Unlimited Canada’s (DUC) National Art Portfolio (NAP) is a unique program through which artwork raises money for wetland conservation in Canada. For over 25 years, DUC has worked with some of Canada’s foremost nature and wildlife artists to raise the funds needed to conserve our vanishing wetlands.

Each year, hundreds of artists submit their paintings to DUC to be considered for the NAP. These paintings are judged and accepted into one of three NAP categories based on specific guidelines. Approximately 15-20 art pieces are chosen annually.

These paintings are then made into high quality lithographic prints and used to raise money for DUC.

Fundraising Events

Each year, DUC holds over 580 fundraising events nationally. These take different forms, such as banquet auctions, golf tournaments, etc. NAP prints are auctioned and raffled off at events these to raise money. The popular prints are a powerful fundraising tool for DUC.

Sealed Bid Auction Program

Across Canada, over 2,500 businesses have agreed to host NAP print auctions through our Sealed Bid Auction (SBA) program. People coming into these businesses can place a bid on displayed prints by leaving their bid in a sealed box attached to the easel. After the auction closes, the person who made the highest bid purchases the print.

DUC encourages artists to submit their artwork to the NAP for consideration, based on specific guidelines. Not only does it support DUC and our wetland conservation mission, but it also offers lots of benefits for artists.
